VILLAGE OF BARNEVELD BOARD MEETING

DRAFT SUBJECT TO APPROVAL

1. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Mike Peterson. Public Notice had been given and agenda’s were available.

2. ROLL CALL: Jim Nelson, Lori Parks, Jim Owens, John Nechkash, Steve Deal, Greg Clerkin and Mike Peterson

3. Pledge of Allegiance

4. Motion by J Nelson/L Parks to approve the minutes of the January 7^th, 2008 board meeting. Motion carried.

5. No informal public comments

6. Motion by J Nechkash/L Parks to reduce the sewer portion of utility bill for Lucky's by $38.33. Motion carried.

Due to weather items #15 and 16 on the agenda was brought forward so Public Works personnel could leave to salt roads

15. Discussion on Ordinance 8.06 Snow Removal. Board reviewed ordinance and discussed possible           changes going forward. Problem areas like bridge sidewalk and snow pushed onto public streets was discussed. Will wait for response from DOT and then schedule a Street Committee meeting. Clerks to check with other Municipalities on their snow removal ordinances and give information to Streets Committee. Clerks will put another notice in shopper regarding sidewalks and streets.

7. Mike Fenley, Village Zoning Administrator appeared before the Board to discuss outdoor woodburning furnaces and non-conforming lots. Mike will look into an ordinance banning outdoor woodburning furnaces. Mike will also look into ordinance changing non-conforming lots so home owners would not have to go before Board of Appeals in some instances.

8. Motion by J Owens/J Nechkash to approve Dept of Revenue's Annual Inspection of Barneveld's Waterworks. Motion carried.

9. Motion by S Deal/J Nelson to approve 2008-2012 Maintenance Assessment Contract with Equity Appraisal. Motion carried.

10. Motion by J Nechkash/J Owens to approve Operator's license for Dustin Kruser for Lucky's. Motion carried.

11. Motion by J Nechkash/S Deal to approve Operator's license for Alex Hudson for Harvest Market. Motion carried.

12. Committee/Commission Reports

13. Motion by J Nelson/ J Owens to approve the bills as presented. Motion carried.

14. Police Chief Report: Board requested Chief Schneider to look into possible volunteer project for snow removal help for seniors/disabled. Police Laptop is up and running with Ray Rickert's help. Chief Schneider informed Board of program offering free vouchers for parents for drug testing for kids. One of Barneveld's Officers will shadow Iowa County's Brian Bilse on the DARE project. One of Barneveld's officers will be going to a Spanish Interpretors class.

17. Update on Legion Hall. Legion is currently zoned R1. Would need to be rezoned.
